LANDON'S MODELING JOURNEY
As a young dog, neither Landon nor anyone else likely had any idea about the amazing life that he would come to lead. Little is known about Landon's puppyhood, since his current mom first met him when he was about a year old, laying injured in an animal shelter's medical ward. At that time, Landon was a frightened, sad, and lonely little dog with four bandaged legs, a partially amputated tail, a dislocated hip that needed surgery, and countless bruises. Landon must have had some sort of a home in his early months of life, but nobody claimed him as their own, so his future mom rescued him and brought him home to foster. The little nameless, adorable dog was named "Landon" after L.A. Galaxy soccer player, Landon Donovan. (Landon's human dad is a big fan of soccer.) The little sheltie's new name was the first clue that he would soon become a wonderful soccer player himself and a shining little star.
Landon Conquers the Runway
Landon started his modeling career in 2010 as a fit model for dog clothes. He is a perfect size Medium, so all other sizes could be gauged from his clothing samples. During the summer after his hip surgery, Landon's mom was asked to design dog wear for a fashion show fundraiser for the Amanda Foundation -- an animal rescue organization based in Beverly Hills, CA. The show was held at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles, which houses high-end furniture and textile companies for the interior design industry. Landon's mom used fabrics provided by Stark Fabrics to make Landon a fancy Louis XIV ensemble, complete with a plumed hat. The fabrics were flown in from Paris, France specifically for Landon's outfit. Landon's escort on the runway was famous interior designer, Christopher Grubb.
The fashion show turned out to be a celebrity-filled event teeming with press from all over the world. Decked out in his fancy ensemble, Landon was the center of attention, and he and Christopher were interviewed by reporters from many different countries. Landon was also on the news that night, and the next morning, he had four pages of Google hits. He had been the fashion show's main canine star. All of this attention soon led to Landon getting a Hollywood agent and more wonderful opportunities.

And He Does It Again . . . |
The next year (2011), Landon walked in the Pattern for Paws fashion show once again, this time sporting an ensemble inspired by Rudolph Valentino's famous sheik ensemble. Once again, Landon (dubbed "Ruff-dolph Valentino") was the hit of the show and received an abundance of media attention. Little did Landon know how many more opportunities would be in store for him.
Additional Modeling Gigs
Following each of Landon's appearances in the Patterns for Paws shows, more modeling opportunities arose. Landon's patience, mellowness, and overall happy nature (even in hectic backstage or on-set environments) made Landon perfect for this work. Landon posed for a calendar and was featured in advertisements. He was also in additional fashion shows, including those that focused mainly on clothing for people. In these latter shows, Landon often stole the show as the models' lovable, fashionable, canine friend. Below is a slide show that includes photos from some of Landon's fashion shows and photo shoots. He has done an array of work, but the main constant is his adorableness. From a youngster to a mature little man, Landon has always been a shining star. Keep shining little guy.
